The Tidy Data Solutions Managed Dynamic Data service functions entirely on the Tidy servers. The only requirement is that the servers are able to connect to the source of the clients data over the internet to monitor the data change and events.

Connection

Managed Dynamic Data runs on our servers. Our servers are connected to your data through a pre-configured DSN (Data Source Name) on your PC which carries authentication for our server. This is carried out over the internet and is transparent to your network.

For this connection to be effective you must have a "always-on" internet connection such as broadband or leased line and a known (fixed) Internet IP address which does not change as our server will always attempt to connect to this address. If your connection is currently a dynamic address which can change each time you connect, you will need to talk to your ISP to obtain a fixed address.

Data Monitoring and Action

The Managed Dynaimc Data server monitors activity in the data and is triggered by pre-agreed events or schedules to react by transmitting documents via email.

On a certain day of the week at a certain time it could pick up all new order entries for that week and send a formatted report to all your directors. If a new order is entered into the system, it could fire a copy to the sales department, despatch department and the customer, confirming the details and checking that stock exists to fulfill the order and notifying a delivery date, time and method.

The tasks undertaken by Managed Dynamic Data are limited only by the quality of the data and your imagagination.

The diagram below illustrates the process in simple form.
